Data science and artificial intelligence can play a tremendous role in disaster response including averting major national catastrophes. However, notable investments must be made beforehand in the form of data, domain, and decisions (DDD). In this webinar, I will highlight a few examples of how AI can help predict and prevent major disasters and demonstrate what a highly capable data-driven system for disaster response looks like.

James Faghmous, Ph.D. is the founder of WSDM.AI where he guides companies and governments to build world-class data science teams and value-adding AI products. Prior to WSDM.AI, James was a professor at Stanford University as well as at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. His innovative work in AI has won multiple awards the Grand Challenges award from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
