Government representatives exchange knowledge to raise the level of excellence in Dubai

Dubai, United Arab Emirates – 07 September 2022: The Government Best Practices Meetings, organized by the Dubai Government Excellence Program, has concluded a series of virtual sessions featuring leading representatives of government departments in Dubai.

In the kickoff session, a keynote by Truls Berg, Entrepreneur, CEO and Author, highlighted the Norway's experience and its pioneering innovations to promote a culture of institutional excellence. The session witnessed a presentation of the most important models of excellence, creativity and performance development, to achieve the highest levels of community happiness, with a focus on how to take advantage of technology to consolidate excellence and leadership as well as its role in overcoming challenges.

During the day, the event hosted a range of virtual sessions where entities from Dubai Government presented best practices in achieving customer and employee happiness on various levels including Happiest Work Environment hosted by Dubai Courts; Best Service Provider by Dubai Airports; Best Innovative Entity; Best Entity in Implementing the Dubai Plan 2021; and Best Entity in Efficiency and Governance by General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai; Best Entity in Digital Government by Public Prosecution Dubai; Best Entity for People of Determination by Dubai Police and Best Entity in Emiratisation by Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA).

The event was closed with a panel discussion held in participation of the winners of the Dubai Medals for Government Excellence; Dr. Aisha Al Nuaimi, Director of the Innovation Center at DEWA and winner of the Dubai Medal for Specialized Employee, Zainab Al Balushi, Chief Financial Auditor in Dubai Courts and winner of the Dubai Medal for Administrative Employee, and moderated by Hassan Al Mazrouei, from the General Secretariat of the Executive Council in Dubai. The participants in the session shed light on methods to achieve excellence on a personal and professional level, and how to enhance the innovation aspects of national cadres.

The Government Best Practices Meetings contributed to the exchange of knowledge, pioneering and distinguished experiences between government agencies in Dubai. The event was presented over two days in the field of performance management and exchanged experiences between various agencies to achieve leadership in government performance. The participants reviewed their distinguished government experiences and international best practices, in line with the future directions of the Dubai government in supporting concerted efforts to raise the level of excellence and the quality of government work performance.

The Dubai Government Excellence Program was established in 1997 to be the driving force behind the development of Dubai's government sector. The Program has contributed to a radical change in the performance, concepts, practices and management methods applied in the government sector, thanks to the cooperation of government entities. The Program has applied standards for models of institutional and functional excellence by providing continuous improvements in their performance and services.
